Technology is rapidly changing how healthcare services are diagnosed, treated and reimbursed. With new Federal regulatory changes, healthcare delivery models are undergoing a paradigm shift to value-based, preventive care. Patients are now becoming consumers of healthcare services and devices, while increasingly sharing more financial burden than ever before. As a result, Connected Health innovation is the only means to combat unsustainable costs and quality of care problems.
Connected Health, including Mobile Health and Digital Medicine, will transform engagement, workflow and data access across patients, providers and payers. The inaugural 2016 5G Connected Health Workshop, will bring key industry thought leaders and other disruptive technology firms to partner with UC San Diego Center for Wireless Communications (CWC) to discuss and solve key industry challenges that include Image, Precision Medicine, Virtual Care Centers and Predictive Analytics.
The workshop will provide a platform to discuss novel wireless research applications and to identify and establish a collaboration roadmap on how to solve some industry challenges. It will precede the annual CWC 5G Forum taking place the following two days on May 12th-13th.
